What am I doing to promote the use of solar energy? I feel that the first step should be to really think about the individual choices we make regarding energy consumption. Do I have a 50 mile commute or a 2 mile commute? Do I leave my computer on all day and all night, or do I power down when not online? Do I really need 2 refrigerators, or can I make do with one? Do I need to cool the entire house when it is hot in the summertime, or should I just control the temperature of the rooms me and my family are in? How much energy should I really be using?
Once we have all challenged ourselves to evaluate how much energy our lives truly require, and to conserve where we can, then the next step is to get the power we require renewably.
I purchased a 5.2 kW solar system for my home 3 months ago, and am very happy with the cost savings, and the knowledge that the electricity we do use come from the sun.
